HDPE water supply pipes
Product Detail:
Polyethylene pipe (PE pipe) is a type of plastic pipe made primarily from polyethylene. It features corrosion resistance, good flexibility, and light weight, making it widely used in water supply, gas transportation, agricultural irrigation, and industrial piping applications.
Performance characteristics
- Chemical corrosion resistance: PE pipes have excellent corrosion resistance to most household and industrial chemicals (such as acids, alkalis, salts), but can be corroded by strong oxidants such as concentrated nitric acid and aromatic hydrocarbons. Its molecular structure is non-polar, not easily rusted or electrochemically corroded, and suitable for complex soil environments.
- Physical characteristics:
·Flexibility and impact resistance: Medium to high molecular weight PE pipes maintain good impact resistance at room temperature and even -40 ° C, making them suitable for earthquake prone areas.
·Lightweight: With a density of only 1/8 of steel, it is easy to transport and install.
·Smooth inner wall: Low water flow resistance, reducing scaling and microbial growth.
- Connection reliability: Adopting hot melt docking (temperature 210 ± 10 ℃) or electric fusion connection, the joint strength is high and the sealing is good, effectively preventing water leakage.
- Hygiene performance: No heavy metal salts are added during processing, non-toxic and does not breed bacteria, meeting drinking water standards.
Classification and Application of PE Pipe
- Material grade: International standards are divided into five grades, PE32 to PE100, of which PE80 and PE100 are mainly used for water supply pipes and gas pipes
- Main application areas:
·Municipal engineering: urban water supply network (HDPE), gas pipeline network (MDPE), and rainwater drainage system.
·Agriculture: Drip irrigation system (LDPE has good flexibility) and irrigation pipes.
·Industry: Chemical transportation (such as acid-base media), slurry pipelines, and environmental protection fields (leachate collection).
- Special purpose: PE elastic tube is used as a filling material for pillow cores, with characteristics such as anti mold and lightweight
Advantages compared to other pipes
- Compared with traditional metal pipes, it does not require anti-corrosion treatment, has a service life of over 50 years, and has lower costs.
- Compared with PVC pipes, PE pipes have better low-temperature resistance (-40 ° C) and flexibility, but PVC pipes have stronger rigidity and better flame retardancy.
